2009-2010 Main Events
Azad India organized health camp under the sponsorship from Give India at Galgaliapul Madarasa in the month of May. Dr Vijayshree Jain saw 57 women and free medicines were given.
Azad India organized 7days SHG’s training on detergent & incense stick making at Dhekipara jahangirpur panchayat in the month of August.
Azad India organized 7 days training in honeybee keeping for women of 4 SHGs in the month of September. The resource person Mr Lakshi came from KVIC Patna to impart the training.
Ms Neeta Minz ,Programme Manager Geneva Global visited Kishanganj to see the progress of Project Disha in Oct.
She visited village Dhekipara,Raipur Middle school stitching centre and interacted with the women of SHG at village Arrabari.
Azad India organized district level advocacy meeting in partnership with BVHA in Oct.
The main focus of the meeting was to promote institutional delivery through different stakeholders.
Azad India organized three day training for the dais on safe delivery and RCH at Damalbari RCH center.Mr Raju Sharma ,training officer BVHA conducted the training in December.
Mr Alak Raju,Board Member ,Azad India visited Kishanganj in December for 2 days to see the various activities of the Foundation.He visited NFE centres of Project Talim and RCH centres under Project Disha.He also visited village Dhekipara and donated sewing machines to the girls.
Azad India has started a project for educating girl child in partnership with IIMPACT. A formal inauguration of the program was done in February by Mr P D Rai ( MP ,Sikkim) along with Mr and Mrs Anil Tandon President IIMPACT at village Singhia.
Azad India organized certificate distribution ceremony at village Arrabari where 85 girls were given certificates in cutting and tailoring by Mrs Sayeeda Banu,chairperson AIF.
Azad India gave away cheques to 3 SHGs to start their small business under the Project Disha. The cheques were given by Mrs Sayeeda Banu to the women of the respective groups.
